What a great game! I sincerely loved it. Very well written and the interactions between Camille and Osgoode felt really realistic. I have two question, though. 1- Can you please tell me the names of the games you've made in the past? I have the feeling i already played some of your games. And 2-

 SPOILER

How Joseph caused the apocalypse in ending 9 ???? It will be explaned sometime?

Anyway, THANK YOU  for the amazing game!!

(+2)

Hi! Thank you for your kind words. My other games include Reverie, an odd sim date and Saccharine a misleading sim date.

Joseph's route was axed, but I might recycle it in the future, so no spoilers for now ahhahaha.

(+1)

I enjoyed this game so much! While I was playing, I thought the art style seemed familiar, as well as the haunting atmosphere and the exploration of the relationship dynamics, until I was scrolling through the comments and found that you were the same person who created Sacharrine??? One of my favourite otomes since I first played it many years ago now??

Goodness! You always had such an enthralling way of telling beautifully dark stories through the archetypes of a dating simulator, and this definitely did not disappoint! I loved exploring the story through the eyes of Camille, as well as where Osgoode fit into her life! (I'd say more, but spoilers, lol.)

I'm so happy I found I Take Your Hand, and re-founded you as well! For years, you've always been one of my favourite developers, and this game was so exciting to play!

(+3)

You know, I've been playing indie OELVNs since the dawn of time and I'd kind of grown tired of seeing the same things over and over again. You reignited my passion for this genre, and I am so happy I actually gave this game a chance. The progression of the story was so wild and at the same time kind of realistic. I could honestly relate to Camille and her thought process quite well. I also absolutely loved the final final ending and if you ever make something else set in this world I will be the first to play it. Thank you for such a great game!

P.S. I had to laugh out loud when Osgoode started on those questions to make strangers fall in love because I've answered those with someone before and recognised them immediately

I love this game , i'm having trouble finding the walkthrough because I been only able to get one ending of the game :(

there's a text file called walkthrough in the game haha. If you need more help with a specific ending, let me know

(+1)

oh wow , i feel so silly :( lmao regardless this game had me up all hours of the night , i'm heavily in love with this game , it isn't a typical fantasy romance, it's  like a dark fairytale , it reminds me of something gulliermo del toro would make into a movie <3 i hope you make more in the future!

Entirely taken by this VN from the moment shit hits the fan, so to speak. Was a lovely, gripping and bittersweet read. Horror otome feels very rare, so I'm genuinely thankful to have found this by chance. I can't wait to recommend it to friends with similar tastes.

I was so, so happy when I found out that one of my favorite creators from when I was younger was still making content! Your games just hit in a way nothing else manages to. I loved Saccharine, Where Adabanas Grow, and Reverie so much that during the Flash purge, I downloaded them and an old build of Flash to make sure that I could still play them. Those three files are seriously some of my most prized possessions. My only regret is that I wasn't able to grab your series about the time traveler... I'd really love to play it someday, especially since it links to Where Adabanas Grow.

Ah... Where to even start with this one. ITYH has seriously given Saccharine a run for its money in terms of my favorite Amiralo game. It's objectively your best yet, and something I would've happily paid money for. It is genuinely crazy how much your art and writing has improved over the years, and I really do think you should consider releasing some commercial games or creating a Patreon if you haven't! You fill a niche that no one else can, or at least not nearly as well as you.

I don't want to force you to read a wall of text, but I do want to list some of the things I loved about ITYH. Osgoode is probably your best love interest yet, even if Joker and the guardsman from Saccharine are still my personal favorites. He has so, so much depth, and I was shocked at how much I felt for him. I really understood what Camille saw in him. Speaking of Camille, she's just another example of your prowess in creating unique heroines that you can root for despite their issues. That's something you never see in otome games, unfortunately. The protagonists are always so pure and kind, but Camille is a person with flaws and desires and I love her for it. I really do mean it when I say that you have several industry veterans beat in several different regards.

The narrative is wonderfully cohesive, too. Every detail ties back into another, and I liked how Ivy's situation ended up paralleling Camille's, or at least that's what I gathered from the story. I just don't know how to put it all into words, but you have truly outdone yourself. The idea of hating this person, but still loving them, and you know you really shouldn't, but you just can't help it, and then you're finally free from them, but you can't stop thinking about how you'll never find someone like them; you'll never experience what you had with them again, even if what you had was horrible and rotten. It's just such a beautiful piece on obsession and desire and love and falling in love with the "right" (heavy emphasis on the quotations, but I did enjoy Ending 9) person at the wrong time. I will definitely be recommending this to everyone I know.

I think I've said enough, so sorry for all the word vomit! I'll be following your future projects with great interest, and I sincerely hope that you'll continue to write and create art. Whether it's a visual novel, book, painting, or literally anything else, I'll always be happy to support your work, because I know that it will always be something truly unique and from the heart.

Hi:) I got all the endings expect for the third one and i tried to follow the guide but i didn't understand where/when i was not supposed to pick up the food?

for the third ending, don't pick up the food and don't say anything to him

I tried to do that, i clicked on the sleep, take shower etc but like i was just stuck on a cyckle until i decided to eat it

Oh not that part.

When Osgoode first shows up with food, choose not to say anything.

When Osgoode wakes u up in the middle of the night and demands that you pick up the food, choose not to pick it up.

OHHH omg my bad! Gomma play now :)

i have no words but i need you to know how enraptured i was in this story. oh w o w. i need to sit down for a while. thank you so much for this game oh my gosh

I can't seem to make it work on Mac :(

I'll try to upload a new build today, but since I don't have a Mac, I can't guarantee it would work.

However, there is a full playthrough of this game here

(+2)

im not too great with words here but i just wanted to express how absolutely amazing this was to play...
i was so in love with both camille and osgoode, she reminds me of someone very dear to me and it made the entire game all the more impactful for me, ESPECIALLY when osgoode is the kind of weirdo i fall head over for in stories
the art... gosh the art. osgoode's wendigo iness was so freaking pretty, i cant even begin to describe it. AND THE STYLE FELT PERFECT FOR THE STORY.
this was just the perfect game. i actually cant put it any other way so im giving up while im ahead and simply saying thank you so so much for making this.

(+1)

Thanks haha. I'm glad you found Camille real and likable enough (even though she's a mess).

(4 edits) (+2)

You must be tired of reading this but.....YEAH, I was your another Otome flash game's fan(._. ), and after I saw this 'your another game' in Itch.io, I click the following button asap as I saw the name Amiralo on it.

Anyway, about this game... made me realize you never fail to achieve the best of Horror otome game Creator. Through your works from Saccharine and Reverie, you really improve your writing and give more dimension to your characters. I mean both main characters' backstory is really convinced the reader of how they shaped their personality and how they feel familiar with real people.

I do share the same conflict thought with Camille, like how we really should not love Serial killer but at the same time, we have the soft spot for Osgoode because he has no choice but to kill people for the sake of survival even though he doesn't want to, and still he is the abuser who imprisoned Camille. It's really hard to hate him and to love him(but I really love him with shame...), and even the development of their relationship is interesting, no matter how toxic it is. You're seriously doing a great job at all of this (ToT)

More things, this personality of the Female lead is really fresh. She has flaws and a selfish side as an ordinary human being, the best girl who deserves anything she wants because she really gives all of her guts to get it. There are many things I want to talk about ITYH, but my lack of ability to use words pains me (;w;) so all I want to say is I love every character of yours, how their personality is shaped by their backstory, and how the concept of falling in love in the wrong place wrong time.

For the final, I have some questions.

Did Ivy survive in Ending 9? and how did she manage..., you know? to sort things out with Joseph after Apocalypse? I'm really interested in their relationship if it is just a small mention I'm still glad to know their update.

and yeah, final for the FINAL, Ending 9 really makes me hang on the cliff. I need to know what's gonna happen right now as soon as I slept and open my eyes in the next morning!!! btw, adult Osgoode's smile is worth for Apocalypse.

SPOILER

1. Joseph was the one who caused the apocalypse in ending 9 haha. Ivy....is alive in a sense.

Aww, thank you for answering my question! Actually, I have to say sorry about how I stated my question ambiguously. I knew that Joseph is the cause of the Apocalypse, but what I wanna ask is how they keep relationship after Apocalypse like are they still together or something?

Btw, if it means the spoiler of your next project, please nevermind to ignore the question (x_x; )

(+1)

Dear Amiralo, I have been following your games for several years, and I love each one of them, so when I found out that you released a new one I was very excited. As always, you keep surpassing yourself. This game became my favorite.

Thanks haha. It's always a relief to know that I am improving.

(+2)

I should leave a review here too!

Short, sweet, dark, and twisted, with the kind of flawed, complex characters that should by all rights be unlikeable but ended up really compelling. Camille is best girl, a heroine who's strong without being perfect or physically strong, whose incredible flaws are precisely what enable her to survive the unsurvivable, and to keep clinging to what agency she has in a situation that seems hopeless. And I'm not usually one for the "boyfriend keeps you in basement" thing, but Osgoode was genuinely great--he's creepy and fucked up but my kind of creepy and fucked up, and the turns their dynamic took were really interesting. I really enjoyed this!

(-13)

just started and the treatment of homelessness is godawful... how do you manage to alienate players within seconds of booting up the game?? it'd be impressive if it wasn't awful and inhumane

(3 edits) (+6)

I assure you it only gets progressively worse from here. Better you stop here before more horrible things happen.

(+3)

Aaaaah! I remember finding your first game, Saccharine, on Newgrounds many years ago-- and absolutely loving it. Every so often, that game would pop back up in my brain and I'd have to go replay it. The way you've precariously balanced love and obsession and death within your games has always been so fascinating to me, and it's so so amazing to see how far you've come with ITYH!

SPOILERS

.

.

The writing, the plot twists, the characterization of Camille and Osgoode are all really wonderfully done (as many have said already!). But one thing I especially enjoyed was your use of player choices. Constantly cycling through exercise, bathing, sharpening, and sleeping without any way to tell how much time has passed was quite immersive and maddening (in the BEST way). Same with how time was marked by the number of times he's stopped playing the piano-- I didn't realize how grounding that music was until it was gone, and I truly felt the psychological toll of Osgoode's absence on Camille. Overall, I think you toyed with the otome format in wonderful and immersive ways.

Also uhhh I cannot get over ending 9?? I'm so sad that we didn't get to see more of that! It was such a sweet way of wrapping them up-- this idea that it was just the wrong place, wrong time, and maybe they have a better shot at a healthy relationship now that they're older, possibly more independent, and ~surviving in a post apocalyptic world~. And a long-haired Osgoode... yes please!

Thank you for another wonderful story, Amiralo! And Happy New Years!

(+2)

Awww thank you for your continuous support!

Happy New Years to you too! There will be a short story continuing from ending 9 in the future, so look forward to it haha.

(+1)

Hi Amiralo! Congratulations on your newest work! I have been your fan since I discovered your older works, and words can’t describe how much I love your newest game right now!
First off, I love Camille’s character. I think you’ve improved immensely since Saccharine.

SPOILERS:

Even though a lot of your heroines have tragic lives, Camille is the most realistic heroine you have ever written in my opinion. Her emotions and thoughts are very realistic during her imprisonment days, which makes me both root for and feel pity for her.

The horror aspect is REALLY well done. It also combines with the music very harmoniously, making the intense and dark scene thrilling as hell. I had a hard time sleeping at night after playing lmao.

I don’t have a lot to say about Osgoode but his relationship with Camille is very interesting even though  it’s not healthy at all (except Ending 9)

The art is beautiful but rather hard to look at.

Finally can you tell me where is the tutorial? I am very curious about all the endings. Gotta see them all!

There should be a walkthrough txt included with the game! It has all the details about how to get all the endings.

(1 edit) (+1)

Wow. Words cannot describe how amazing this Visual Novel is. I typically dislike Visual Novels because the  stories lack any interesting aspect, but this one is convincing me otherwise. I loved that  Camille (MC) is a more feminine, hopeless romantic, beauty-focused girl.  Her character is very new to me, and I loved playing as her. Obviously, this VN shows a very toxic "relationship" excluding the whole supernatural aspect, but it kept wanting me to look for some good ending somewhat. I also wanted to comment on the amazing art. I love the way that Osgoode's character was drawn, this style is just so elegant. IMO, I think we should have more writers/artists like the people who developed this VN in the gaming/literature community. As of writing this comment I haven't checked out the developers' other work, but I certainly will if I can find any.

I wanted to also ask if it was possible to have an Endings screen? where you can look thru all the endings you've completed and the endings you haven't reached. I would love to finish this VN all the way through.

Again TYSM for this amazing VN, it's the only thing keeping me sane while quarantining in my own bed lmao.

(+1)

Unfortunately, I don't have time to implement an ending collection system, but the game does come with a walkthrough on how to get all the endings haha.

If you don't know, I was the first person to comment on this page. You can scroll down XD Just a fun fact. And so, my review is:

This is so good T_T This is so good! I have to say that twice. I played all your flash games prior to this, but after all of that I still haven't learned what to expect from your stories. I mean, after Saccharine or Adabana??? C'mon. I should have expected some twisted, angsty, distressing, horrifying, bittersweet tragedy! I didn't really have much expectation, I thought it will be the captor/captive disastrous romance/Stockholm/Lima syndrome. While yeah, it kinda is, your writing makes it all very different and much more entertaining. I always admire your concepts and ideas! In this story, I find that Camille's narration and dialogues are the stars in this VN. I really enjoy... hmmm... how effed up Osgoode is. I have a pretty high tolerance, but if you can make me facepalm several times, then that means you are on the right track. Yes.

I really enjoy it. I binged this for three hours and I never break immersion. It is my joy to pretend to be a voice actor and voice act all of the dialogues. I give other characters an ordinary American accent. I don't know what accent Osgoode is supposed to have so I just give Osgoode a very terrible slight Russian accent to the best I can pffft Just a random fact to give you ideas of how I enjoy the VN.

Your art is maybe not the crystal clear bubblegum pop I always see, but I always love it. It gives it so MUCH vibe. It makes it very easy to be immersed in it.

My criticism is very minor, maybe just the typos and some unnamed dialogue? (I'm sorry but I don't know where.) And maybe when we go to the right hallway, you can make it slide to the right XD

I have some questions, but it is going to spoiler territory so...

.

.

.

[SPOILER START]

Questions:

1. Is Charles's secretary Emily Johnson related to Agent Johnson?

2. Why is Ivy saved in Ed 8, but not in Ed 9? How does Camille being kidnapped make it different?

3. Joseph, the Eldritch being who brings the end of the world is too big not to be elaborated!

4. I read that you will keep writing even if maybe not VNs, will we be able to read your future writing? I mean... I love your stories. I love it T_T

5. Ed 9 is my favorite for the obvious reason. Maybe this is just wishful thinking, but I would love to read an adventure between this Camille and this Osgoode.

6. Is twisted, effed up story always your favorite to write? XD

[SPOILER END]

.

.

.

I have some interest in writing and this just makes me think that... maybe... writing a story in this genre is a very great idea after all...

Final verdict: This is so good and I want more :) Thank you for the hard work. You've done such a good job and I'm so happy I can enjoy your writing again.

P.S.

What does ITYH mean? "I Think You're Hot"?

(+2)

Oh wow thank you for your continuous support!

SPOILERS

1. Unfortunately they are not related. I tend to use the surname "Johnson" for every named but not important NPC character I have lmao.

2. Originally Ivy and Joseph are supposed to have their own route, but due to scoping and writer's block, I decided to ax their route. Basically, I wanted some of Ivy and Joseph's endings to exist in the same universe as some of Camille and Osgoode's endings, thus the difference in Ivy's survival status lmao.

3. Ahahhaha I'll probably recycle Joseph's story in the future. But originally his route is about Joseph slowly turning into a tentacle monster and how the doomed couple tries to stop the transformation. It goes about as well as you expect.

4. If I write a story that is suitable for the otome audience base, I'll definitely advertise it here ahahahha.

5. There is a short story in the planning that continues from ending 9. I will make an announcement once it's completed.

6. I'm a firm believer that a good story should make you feel something. Since I'm not talented enough to write impactful fluff yet, I stick to horror and sadness masquerading as romance or fluff lmao.

7. ITYH means I Take Your Hand ahahhahah. You know, just like how Osgoode took Camille's hand.

I love the horror and sadness owo

This was 10/10,  AMAZING AS ALWAYS AMIRALO:=)

This game is really amazing! I skipped reading the game's description to really know what it was all about and boy...You really caught me off guard. I was expecting Camille to be the toxic one with her "yanderish" tendencies. xD

Speaking of Camille, I was as conflicted as her when reading the story. Like, I can tell that Osgoode isnt really a "bad guy" it's just his own nature and he can't help it. He didnt choose to be... [SPOILERS]

a human-eating monster. However we can't condone the fact that he's keeping Camille as his property while ignoring her wishes.

I liked the contrast between the cute artstyle and the gruesome storytelling. It's my favorite combo! And let's not forget the great foreshadowing here and there. 🥰

Thank you for your hardwork and for sharing this gem with us. I wish you a Happy New Year. 🖤

SPOILERS

Yeah ahahhaha.  Both Osgoode and Camille are emotionally stunted teenagers who objectively have no idea how to treat other people. Their relationship definitely isn't healthy or consensual by any means. To put it simply, they met each other in the wrong place at the wrong time lmao.

Honestly Ending 9 was the happiest scenario I could think up for them without compromising their personality ahahhahahaha

Glad you enjoyed the story!

I want more :3

Hi! I've just finished playing your game and it was amazing! I've also been a fan since your early sim date days (oh, so much pain...) and I think I even got some "Whats your name" vibes while playing, which was really cool :) You can't imagine how excited I was when I discovered you were working on a new project! I've read and played all kind of things, however your work still stands appart from the rest in lots of ways. I think you have a way with words and it's quite rare to find such a good visual novel, well written and in which horror and romance are mixed together so skillfully ! (And in such mature way) I wish you all the recognition possible (and selfishly I must confess I hope you continue writting and creating stories like this one). Your work has something very special. Also, your art has always reminded me of the work of IJKelly, just in case you don't know it(?).  Aaaand well, congratulations again :)

(For a moment there I really thought Camille and Osgoode were getting a "happy" ending together... but! Suddently everyone died. It was as as if you were about to give in to happiness but in the last moment your instincts kicked in. )

Omg thank you for your long-time support! I don't know if I will make visual novels in the future, but I will definitely keep on writing haha.

SPOILERS

Ending 9 is relatively happy I think? They consensually got together ahahhaha.

Oh, I understand! It's a lot of work for just one person. If you write stories I'd be very happy to read them, in the case you publish them anywhere. And btw I'm an illustrator, so if you need help someday with some project maybe I could help (during holidays or in my free time, I think i wouldn't mind :) ??

SPOILERS!!!!. (there's 9 endings and the game is really good)

This game is a masterpiece, because even after eating Camile's hand I still like him.

Osgoode is a serial killer, who eats humans (the homeless or others like them) but for some reason I like him. Despite his man eating ways, in a way he is an answer to a question, one of those question that we all know the answer but refuse to state it.

The question is "Would you still eat your food, if it looked like you, spoke the same language, ect ." Everyone knows that it would be extremely hard to eat, but the answer is difficult. You HAVE to kill it, there's no other option, but killing the food is basically murder. Osgoode is the embodiment of that question. He has to eat humans otherwise he will die and for that I have sympathy for him.

thinking about it, its easier to sympathise him because he's hot. lol

I really like how you talked about the houses on the hill. How on the top of the hill was the homes of the richest but all supplies was at the bottom. Spectacular foreshadowing.

In ending 6 I found out that Osgoode ate Camille after she consented. This brings the question if Osgoode didn't get caught, would he eat Camille. My guess probably. Osgoode obviously is attracted and likes Camille (or is it because she reminds him of Milton) as he did say that her hair is like sunshine and that he still likes her even though she's mean. The problem is that he doesn't know what his feelings are.

Camille is not what I expected. From the brief destruction I thought she was a girl who spent her days reading romance and watching Twilight for the 100th time and was trying to learn French so she can be like Lily Rose Depp. You know that girl who doesn't exist irl but online. Instead I got a manipulative  girl, who doesn't give a shit about anyone and uses people to feel loved.

Camille's father I believe he had an affair with her mother and so Camille was born, and truly doesn't love Mr rich guy (I forgot his name). That would make a lot of sense. I remember Leo saying "he always forgives me", so there's my evidence. The fact that Leo doesn't like Mr rich, is that Camille uses her body to get ahead trying to gain power with Osgoode or some random dude in ending 9.  This is all a theory but Leo could be using Mr rich.

It's really sad to see Camille say her father was a good one. Tbh he's not a good one. After all there's this passage where it said that after parties Mr Rich would carry him to bed. IDK if he was drunk or he was having sex with Mr Rich. If he's having sex, ... Having sex while your kid is in the house isn't what good fathers do. Never the less it only goes to show how damaged Camille is.

Camille to me isn't very likeable, sliding to the relatable. I like how she reacts when she's kidnapped. She hates Osgoode, but he's the only reason she's alive. #stockholmesendrom. I like how she realises she loves him despite everything after all.

He's her dream guy.

I also like how the consent is dubious. Camille consents only because she wants to be free. She doesn't want to have sex but consents to gain something.

In conculsion this review is too Long and I really like this game. Each character has a need to be loved and only each other can full fill that.

In the end of ending 7 Camille says "if you put me in chains again one of us will die" Osgoode says "if you leave I'll eat your legs".

They're really soulmates.

(1 edit) (+2)

Oh wow thanks for the super in-depth analysis!

SPOILERS

SPOILERS

SPOILERS

1.  Hmmmm I would argue to say that Camille does give a shit about Ivy. However, due to the absolutely dismal parent figures in her life, she was never properly taught how to care and love others in a meaningful way. So while she does care, she has absolutely no healthy way to show that she cares besides intense possessiveness ( See Camille's expression when looking at ivy's photo with her bf)

2. Camille's father Leo is a man who was so beautiful that you can forgive him for doing anything. It's not that he doesn't love his daughter or his partner Mr.Rich (love your nickname for Mr. Buchanan), but he's grown up being easily forgiven for every transgression he ever did. When you are easily forgiven for everything, you will trample everything under your feet bc there are no real consequences.  This is why he can easily cheat on Mr.Rich and bring home a love child without really asking for Mr. Rich's permission: Leo knows that Mr. Rich will cave every time lmao. (Ironically, if Mr.Rich took a harder stance, things would be much different haha. But Mr. Rich was whipped and never does)

Again like Camille, it's not that Leo Dubois is a cold-hearted sociopath with no empathy, but he literally was not taught the ability to properly care for others. Leo grew up learning that as long as he is charming, he can have anything. He literally did not need to learn how to be a decent person lmao.

3. Ahhhh Osgoode is Camille's dream guy all right. It's up to you to decide whether it's a fever dream or a nightmare lmao.

(1 edit) (+1)

Thank you for replying.

I've seen that you've made couple of games prior to this but I just can't seem to find them. It would be helpful for you to send me a link so I can play your games. Since your newground link isn't working for me (I guess its because of the flash player stuff).

(+1)

Ahhhh unfortunately at this moment,  Newgrounds is the only place where my game is available. Did you try downloading their extension? You need it to open any flash games on that site haha.

(+1)

i have incredibly mixed feelings on Osgoode
i've only seen ending eight as of now but the build-up to all the twists and turns that i have seen is done wonderfully. without saying much so i don't spoil stuff, i particularly like the way it suddenly cuts into talking about Osgoode and Camille's pasts. it can make you feel for both of them and help you understand why the both of them do what they do. all in all, this game made me feel all kinds of things and i'm glad for it.
i also really like seeing how Camille feels on things - in a way i can heavily sympathize with her on a lot of things. i was honestly prepared to hate her but she is surprisingly relatable.

this was amazing and i am more than excited to see what you come up with next.

(+2)

Ahahahhah I'm glad you liked Camille. I always had a fondness for fictional girls with glaring personality flaws and wanted more people to appreciate them haha.

Despite being genuinely horrible people, both Osgoode and Camille are just confused teenagers trying their best. That's probably the biggest reason for the "mixed feelings" haha.

(3 edits)

Bro- I'm partway through and I'm in love with this game, this is really pulling me into the chills. I was so confused on what to feel, there is true danger and horror yet a growing and deepening attachment.

taking away the fiction elements and you know the horror stuff (shalt not spoil), there's such a likeness for a relationship with someone who has a true issue that they cannot seperate themselves from. The person with the issue does not wish to hurt their significant other from their illness or disorder. The more we progress the more attached I feel even though I know what may be inevitable. Its so sad man I love it.

(+1)

Awwww thanks!

Glad you were able to be as conflicted as Camille was ahahaha.

But honestly, the best course for dating someone like Osgoode (allegory or not) is to run while you still can.

I’ve always loved your games since dating sim days and I’m really happy that this release is as beautifully written as expected. I love how each of the endings turned out, even 7 felt cathartic given the circumstance the protagonist was in. I have tried 8 as well but I will always have a fondness for 7 since I could sympathize with Camille in a way for her actions. Looking forwards to seeing your future releases!

(+1)

Ahhh glad you like ending 7 and found it cathartic! Even though Camille can't fight, I still wanted her to be a "strong" and "proud" heroine in her own right haha. Unfortunately (?) being proud and strong sometimes leads to drastic measures in the face of immense pressure and humiliation lmao.

Sorry, this is going to be long but I need to rant about this wonderful game! In a nutshell, though, I love this game and for anyone wondering if they should play, definitely play it! It's a ride that has a little something for everyone, I think.

So, I've been checking this game page every day, impatiently waiting for the the thirty first of December 'cause I thought that was the release date and I saw that it was available for download right now?!?! Like, hello, Amiralo, thank you so much for brightening my day!!

As for the game itself, ah, I have no words. Or maybe I have too many words. I love it so much! It's brilliant! Couldn't stop playing it once I started, and as soon as I finished, I wanted to fangirl about it, which is why I'm up at 5:00 A.M.  writing this. Everything was just so perfectly executed and the story was simply mwah! *chef's kiss*

Seriously, I don't know how, but you managed to balance morbidity and horror and romance perfectly.  Literally everything I look for in a game. *swooning*  And Camille's mental state was described so well. It was very interesting to see her grow as a character through the gradual change in her thoughts and how she coped with her situation.

Also, Osgoode is a cinammon roll. An extremely messed up, absolutely-needs-therapy, god-what-is-wrong-with-me?-why-do-I-like-him? psychopath (kinda?), but a cinnamon roll nonetheless. Or maybe I just developed Stockholm's?

And that last ending just came out of nowhere! Like I read in another comment, I would love, love, love to see more of it! I definitely want to know how things go with Osgoode and Camille when she isn't, you know, being held captive and slowly loosing her mind.

I thought Ending 8 (I think?) was gonna be the "happy" end, but whoa, did things change quick. I think that was my favourite ending. Every single turn of the story had me utterly captivated and the wait was absolutely worth it!

I loved that this was made on Ren'Py, by the way. I found the controls much easier than the Newgrounds player I used to play your earlier games, though maybe I just didn't know how to navigate that properly.

Oh, and I don't know if I just missed it or something, but if you ever update this game, do you think you could add a gallery section? I'd love to look at all of the art! It was so pretty and suited the ambience of the game so well and I just know that I'd stare at it if I could. There were a couple of typos, too, if I'm being extremely nit-picky, but nothing too noticeable. An endings gallery would also be nice to keep track of the ones we unlock, but that's just me asking for sprinkles on an already cherry-topped sundae.

...

Oof. This was ultra long, wasn't it? Sorry, I just wanted to get my feels out. Thanks for reading! I would edit this to make it shorter but I think I'd fall asleep before ever finishing.

Thank you for creating yet another masterpiece, Amiralo, and I can't wait to read any future works from you! I truly loved the experience of this game, right from the start to the multiple ends! <3

Ahhhh I'm glad you liked it!

I don't know if I'll have time to code gallery, I'll let you know if I do.

Did you download version 1.1? That version should be relatively typo free ( besides a few instances where Osgoode's name is missing lmao)

There should be short story available in the future that continues from ending 9-I just have to wait for inspiration to strike haha.

A short story?!?! Ahhh, now I'm excited again! Can't wait for it, but of course, take your time! I'm sure you need a break after this project :)

This game is SO CREEPY YOOOOOOOO. I love the use of monotonous repetition to really get into Camille's mindset and OSGOODE. He was so fascinating!! I both liked him and was cursing his name while playing LIKE!! I GET IT!! ALSO AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH.

I loved looovveeed the slow reveal of both Camille and Osgoode's backstories as the game went along and ENDING 9!!! OH MAN. OH MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WANNA KNOW MORE! Any plans on writing anything else in that timeline? (even if not necessarily about Osgoode or Camille, but just the whole, you know, THAT.)

I really really liked your take on the beauty and the beast trope with this one, especially what you did with the beauty! Just her whole emotional ride is SO GOODDDDD. Love how petty and jealous and in love with the idea of love she is in the beginning and then contrasted to the endings!!

Amiralo games are always a treat and when I saw this was released I ZOOMED over and loved it! Thank you so much for making this!!

Ahhh I'm definitely thinking about a short story with some sketches thrown in for the continuation of ending 9. But I need to think of a fluffy but still mood-appropriate prompt first haha.

ajkdsfhkasdfh I'm glad you liked both Camille and Osgoode! I wanted to balance their power dynamic despite Osgoode being...Osgoode. I'm glad it came through!

Again thanks for the fanart!
